Install Apache, MySQL, and PHP

Open a terminal window (Applications ? Accessories ? Terminal) and run the following command to install Apache, MySQL and PHP:

sudo apt-get install lamp-server^

When sudo asks for a password, simply enter the password you used to log in to the system.
Apt-get displays a list of the packages which are about to be installed. Answer yes or press enter to start the installation. Apt-get will then download and install the required packages.

Until now the only way to create your own forms was by creating a plugin or hack the core of the content management system. Drupal however has a community created module that allows anyone to create a form on a website. The form can either send the entered data to your email address or save it in a database or both. There are a number of reasons why you will need to create a form. Here are some examples:

• Create a Bug Report form for your buyers or users for your software
• Register for an upcoming event.
• Submit content to the website
• Add a help desk to your drupal website

Heute war nun der dritte und letzte Tag der diesjährigen Euro-DrupalCon. Es ging gleich am Morgen mit einer Session zum Thema "Create a mobile Version of your Website" los. Spannend, ich werde nochmal Hand anlegen müssen, um meine .mobi-Tests zu einem guten Ende zu bringen. Dann schob ich eine Lesepause ein, da in der Stunde vor der täglichen Keynote wie üblich nur die Hälfte der Sessionräume verfügbar war und gefühlte 800 Leute nach 300 Plätzen anstanden. Die Keynote "HTML5 for designers" von Jeremy Keith war wie erwartet sehr unterhaltsam und informativ (damit hat Jeremy m.E. den Keynote Award gewonnen ;).
Das anschließende Mittagessen war wieder geschmacklos, wie erwartet.

Dann ab zum Aegir-Vortrag. Ergebnis: Aegir rockt! Mal sehen, ob ich für meine paar Websites den Aufwand wage, Aegir einzusetzen. Just because! Die letzte Session "Developing Apps for iPhone/iPad/Android using drupal as Base System" stand ganz oben auf meiner heutigen Agenda, ich kam aber zu spät, um überhaupt noch in die Nähe der Tür zu kommen. Ich habe mich dann in den Bof-Bereich begeben und mir die Gespräche zu "RDF in Drupal" angehört. Aber irgendwie war zu dem Zeitpunkt schon mein Akku alle, und der meines Notebooks auch.
